Building Automation  ·  USA & Canada

I make controls work, so they stop keeping you up at night.

When it won't turn over,
who owns it?

Maybe you're bidding a complex job and can't afford a takeoff that's off. Maybe you won the work but don't have the in-house depth on the platform. Maybe commissioning has stalled, the GC is calling, and nobody can find why the integration is failing.

You don't need another salesperson with a line card. You need someone who has been in the panel, written the code, and turned over mission-critical buildings on every major platform. Someone who built and sold a smart-systems business too, so they know exactly what's on the line when a job goes sideways.

"When the schedule and the budget are on the line, that's when you want me in the room."

Where I get pulled in.

I speak all of them.

I've worked with every brand and generation of building automation controls, and I specialize in Niagara, Honeywell, Distech, and Johnson Controls. I've also integrated with just about every piece of equipment out there, from HVAC and lighting control systems to generators, booster pumps, UPS, and PDUs. You're never locked in: I can build an open system, rescue someone else's job, or migrate you off a platform that's holding you back.

About

Built it, sold it,
still in the panel.

I started on the plant floor, pulling wire and terminating panels. I helped build entroCIM, a smart-systems platform, and sold it to Wesco — so I've run this business from the field to the boardroom.

Today I run SpecIQ, and I'm still in the panel, doing the work and trying to make this industry better and easier for everyone in it. Over twenty years I've estimated, designed, programmed, and commissioned building automation for some of the most demanding owners in North America.

Ford. FedEx. Coca-Cola. Chick-fil-A. The Atlanta Airport. Georgia Tech. Suncor. Imperial Oil. Canada Life.

I'm not a sales layer and I'm not a slide deck. You get the engineer who does the work, who has built and sold the business, and who stays accountable from the estimate to the closeout.

The personal stuff

I'm a husband and a dad to two boys, and I love sports more than is strictly reasonable. Ask me about a game and you'll lose an afternoon.
